email or FTP your PalmPix photos

PixeMail enables PalmPix photos to be emailed or sent by FTP from your Palm.

Have you got a PalmPix camera attachment for your Palm?

Have you ever been away and taken a great photo that you don't want to lose, or perhaps you'd like to send a holiday snap as an attachment to an email postcard? Perhaps you've filled the Palm memory but would like to take just a few more photos?

If you are not near a PC what can you do? If you have PixeMail you can email them home so that they are safe!

How to get a photo from the PalmPix

From the Main Page select 'Convert PalmPix Photo'

Select which photo you want to convert to an PixeMail file then tap the 'Convert' button.

PixeMail will convert all the stored versions of the selected image.

How to email a photo

Connect your modem (or get your Infra-Red linked phone ready).  Remember to configure your connection and network settings in the Palm system prefs to suit how you connect to your service provider. Email settings are configured from the main menu in the Main Page.

From the Main Page tap the Manage Pictures button.

  • Select a picture from the list.
  • Choose email. If you are using MultiMail, it will be launched, if not you follow these steps.
  • The email subject will be set to the comments for the picture. You can alter this. You may type a short message to accompany your email.
  • When you have composed your email, tap email. The Palm will attempt to connect to the internet and send your mail.
  • While it is sending your attached picture a progress dialog will show how many bytes of your picture have been transmitted. Note that size of the attachment wil be around 1.5-2 times bigger than the stored picture. Therefore a 50K picture will generate an attachment of around 75-100K.
